Sometimes Life Gives Murder a Second Chance It was the case that destroyed Detective Justin Shakespeare’s career, beginning a downward spiral of self-loathing and self-destruction lasting half a decade. And today things are only going to get worse. The Widow Rapist is free on a technicality, and it is up to Detective Shakespeare and his partner Amber Trace to find the evidence, five years cold, to put him back in prison before he strikes again.
But Shakespeare and Trace aren’t alone in their desire for justice. The Seven are the survivors, avowed to not let the memories of their loved ones be forgotten. And with the release of the Widow Rapist, they are determined to take justice into their own hands, restoring balance to a flawed system.
At stake is a second chance, a chance at redemption, a chance to salvage a career destroyed, a reputation tarnished, and a life diminished.
A chance brought to Detective Shakespeare whether he wants it or not.
A chance brought to him by The Redeemer.
From USA Today bestselling author J. Robert Kennedy comes the third entry in the acclaimed Detective Shakespeare Mysteries series, The Redeemer, a dark tale exploring the psyches of the serial killer, the victim, and the police, as they all try to achieve the same goals.

The Redeemer A Detective Shakespeare Mystery Book #3 Detective Shakespeare Mysteries edition by J Robert Kennedy Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks
I've read all three books in this series and found them all to be excellent reads. I think to truly enjoy each book, you need to start with book 1. This sets the main characters, book two expands on them, and book three fully expose's the characters for all their glory. Their faults, their goodness, and their doubts about themselves. This being done with great story backgrounds which are fully covered.I also have read other books of this author and found them to be enjoyable. I found these characters much more enjoyable then the others.
Haven't read a detective series in years and years. Just hasn't been the genre of choice.
So, Mr Kennedy. Do me a favor, email me when your next book is out for this series.

The Redeemer A Detective Shakespeare Mystery Book #3 Detective Shakespeare Mysteries edition by J Robert Kennedy Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
I love this series. You never know what's going to happen next. You become very invested with the characters and the storyline is very inventive. I also purchased the first audio and my husband is listening to it. If you like James Rollins, you will like these good reads.
A must read if you enjoy a good mystery. From discovering what really caused Detective Shakespeare to lose the respect of his colleagues to following him as he cracks another difficult case the author makes you want to just keep reading. As for the perpetrator, again we are taken on a ride by the author with twists and turns that will challenge even a Poirot fan. A great way to spend a day off. I just wish I had saved it for the holidays. Get working on the next one Mr. Kennedy.
Thank you so much for this terrific series! I'm surely not the only reader wanting to hear more about detective Shakespeare. He is smart, humble and totally loveable! You'll certainly do yourself a favor by reading this short but exciting series.
A bit on the dark side, with a side of hope included. I like Shakespeare, he a everyday one of us, struggling to deal with his life, his job, his health, and his commitments. Pretty much like all of us. Hope Kennedy continues to develop him as a character and book series.
Ok, this 3rd Detective Shakespeare really got to me, I read it in one day, now I hope and wish another book will follow this one. I love there twists and turns in a novel of this genre.
Mr Kennedy, you are a great writer.
Anxious for all your next books, for I have read them all, Acton, Delta and Kane!
A must read if you enjoy a good mystery. I recommend reading the first two books in this series prio0r to this the third in the Detective Shakespeare series as he cracks another difficult case. The author makes you want to just keep reading. You are taken on a ride by the author with twists and turns that will challenge. I read all three back to back, since I really enjoyed the first book. A great way to spend a day off. Hope there are more in the Shakespeare series coming. So, get going on the next one Mr. Kennedy.
The Redeemer is a fine sequel to this series. I went straight from Tick Tock to this story. Almost as if I were living in the same time frame as Detective Shakespeare. Kennedy brings the characters closer to the readers, digging deeper into their personal lives. The main characters become more real, including their deeper flaws. The peripheral characters are given more dimension. And we get a new perp, even more psychotic than the previous evil doers in this series.
Kennedy's fluid style is such that these are 'can't put them down' stories. Don't start it late in the evening, because you won't be able to get to bed for a few hours. The author has picked up where Ed McBain/Evan Hunter unfortunately let off. This is the new 87th Precinct series. You don't have to read the earlier Shakespeare stories first, but you'll be glad that you did.
